On election night a few of us Barack ‘n Roll girls, Misty, Corey & I (Amanda was volunteering in OH & Jen was in HI), were in the Mission (district) in San Francisco & it was so awesome to witness the joy & celebration on the streets… it was INCREDIBLE! Everyone honking & cheering, clapping, singing & celebrating. I’ve truly never seen anything like it.

As this election draws closer, now less than 48 hours to go, I know we’re all on the edge of our seats. I’ve talked to a lot of people over the weekend & today who are feeling pretty anxious. So much is riding on this & although in our hearts most of us believe it’ll be a landslide of a win… I know we’re all holding our breath until we know it’s for real.

We’re proud to announce Barack ‘n Roll was a huge hit! We sold over 400 tickets and exceeded our goal of raising $10,000 to send volunteers to swing states! YES!

Thank you to everyone to came out last night to support us. We were blown away by the turnout and the excitement in the room. Throughout the night, people came up to all of us, thanking us for putting Barack ‘n Roll together and to congratulate us on an amazing turn out. We were all so humbled and proud to be part of such a supportive and passionate community.

Thank you to all who couldn’t make the event, but still donated to the Barack ‘n Roll Fund via PayPal (which you can still do!), and/or emailed us to express your support. We felt you there with us in spirit, and we’re so happy to hear you are just as excited as we are to see Barack Obama win the Presidency!

Last night was AMAZING, but we all woke up this morning realizing it was just the beginning. Now we will start focusing on connecting with volunteers signed up on Obama Travel and getting them setup with plane tickets, hotels and rental cars. We have less than 3 weeks before the election and we can’t get complacent. Yes, Obama is doing well in the polls but we can NOT let up for a second. We need to keep campaigning, keep talking to people, keep working to get voters to the polls on November 4th. If you are able to travel, even for just a couple of days, PLEASE sign up on Obama Travel and we will help to get you there.
